Jessica’s Glossy Box Review

Last month I finally decided to take the plunge and try out Glossy Box, a UK based beauty box subscription service.  In case you haven’t heard of it, how it works is you fill in some basic information about yourself, your likes and dislikes etc and for £9.99 per month they send you a box with around five different samples of beauty products for you to try out.  Being a bit of a beauty junkie, this idea appealed to me from day one (I also love getting things in the post, who doesn’t?)  However not all of the companies that do this deliver to Ireland, and I debated a bit about whether it would be worth it after you pay for postage, the exchange rate and so on…

The good thing about it though, is that you have the option to pay per month and can cancel at any time.

It came in a printed cardboard box, which I though was “the box”, but then there was another even nicer box inside (this was the London edition hence the Union Jack), printed tissue paper, grosgrain ribbon… I was suitably impressed!  Of course, like with any gift, the unwrapping is half the fun!  There’s also a mini magazine and info about the products.  My box contained:

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips

Eylure Pre-glued Lashes

Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Classic Shine & Gloss Serum

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner

Hd Brows Bronzer

So far so good, the makeup products appeared to be full size and the only product I might not get much use out of, and haven’t used yet, were the false eyelashes, although the self-adhesive aspect really appeals, no messing around with glue.  The rest of the products I really like and have been using.  The eyeliner probably being my favourite as it’s so easy to use and lasts all day.  The price came to €15.96  so even with the postage it’s still good value in my book.  So all in all, a definite thumbs up and I’m letting my subscription roll on to the next box… which I eagerly await!
